- Bring the 1988 All Star game bat signed by Canseco that my wife bought me several years back for him to pose with (and tell him about it). The only piece of memorabilia I would never part with!
- Figure out what to have him sign
- Determine how to have him personalize it
Looks good to me! |
This is getting a little awkward. Is this dude's arm STILL around me? |
My Precious |
Putting all the steroid stuff to the side: this is a great tale of you meeting someone you really like, and it all turned out pretty darn well. Enjoy the memories.
ReplyDeletehahaha "my precious"! hilarious! so great you got your pic with him after all these years!
ReplyDeleteWait, you're in Houston? I'm in Houston! (wow, that sounds a little creepy-stalker-ish, sorry). How was the show this year, I didn't get to go :(
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. It's always great when your childhood hero is at least friendly in person. I've heard so many horror stories about people meeting their idol only to have them be complete jerks.
Haha no problem :) I picked up a bunch of stuff. I am probably going to put up a blog about some recent dealings - I've picked up a few more collections and such too.
ReplyDeleteI was worried about Canseco being a jerk ... as am atter of fact, us Canseocans were talking before the pics, saying we heard he was a jerk. That was not my experience though, I'm glad to say!
Nice story. I think you should have had him auto that photoshop pick of you and him instead of the ball though. That would have been a really cool wall piece.
ReplyDeleteI actually considered it, but chose to do the ball instead, because the 1989 World Series really meant a lot to me, and I knew I was going to photoshop the pic a bit, so I wanted it to be a clean piece.
